Demand Controlled Ventilation

Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV) is automatic adjustment of ventilation equipment according to occupant choice. DCV is a control method that modulates the volume exchange of fresh or outside air into an enclosed space by mechanical air conditioning equipment.

The biggest potential for energy savings with DCV is in building zones that vary widely in occupancy levels. When occupancy levels are low, the outdoor ventilation rate can be reduced to minimal levels and eliminate the need to condition additional and unnecessary outdoor air. Building zones such as auditoriums, conference rooms, restaurants, and retail stores are prime examples.

Our demand controlled ventilation system can help to save chilled water /district cooling consumption, electricity in kitchens and in other conditioned spaces.

We optimize the operations of fresh air handlers for substantial saving in energy.

Example:

In a kitchen of a Restaurant, the kitchen extract fans and fresh air supply fans works irrespective of the occupancy/load of kitchen where the energy consumption is always very high compared to all other areas of the building. By employing suitable control of supply air temperature and exhaust air extract we can achieve big savings.
